From the M5 motorway at junction 31, take the A30 dual carriageway towards Okehampton. After about 11 miles - at the Woodleigh Junction - turn left signposted to Cheriton Bishop and Castle Drogo. After another ½ mile (just before the Old Thatch Inn) turn left into a lane, and continue for about another 2 miles to a crossroads. Turn right signposted to Clifford Bridge, and continue for about a mile down hill to another crossroads. Go straight across, and turn left immediately over the river bridge, where the entrance to Clifford Bridge Park (OS Ref:SX 782897) will be seen on the left. Number 17 will be found at the far end on the left hand side.
This delightful and spacious two bed detached holiday chalet is very well presented and offers a bright and modern interior in a peaceful and scenic location. On entering the lodge you are straight into the main living area, a great sized open plan space with a vaulted ceiling and windows on three sides. These windows take in the views over the park and to the national trust owned woodland beyond. The main living area is home to the lounge, dining space and kitchen. The kitchen has a range of wall and floor units with inset sink and drainer, electric cooker, gas hob, and space for a fridge freezer. In addition to this there is a utility room again with a range of wall and floor cupboards and a washing machine, also the gas boiler responsible for the heating and hot water. In addition to this there is a main bedroom with an ensuite shower room and wardrobe, a second bedroom with built in wardrobe and a family bathroom comprising of a panel bath, wash basin and WC. To the front of the lodge is a decked balcony accessed from the main living space with delightful views open views over the 8 acres if communal gardens and the woodland beyond. The Upper Teign Valley and Fingle Gorge is mostly owned by the National Trust and has a wealth of delightful riverside walks along woodland tracks either upstream through Fingle Gorge to Castle Drogo or downstream to Steps Bridge and through the Dunsford Nature Reserve, renowned for its spring daffodils. The park is also extremely well located being in a peaceful spot but also only 3.5 miles from the A30 junction which provides great access to the city of Exeter with its chain stores, a variety of shops, ancient buildings including the Cathedral and historic quayside.
