Whitton & Laing’s Property & Estate Management Service provides a comprehensive service for maintaining buildings, communal areas and estates for residents’ property management companies and also freeholders’ interests.
With our enviable reputation for a resident-friendly service and finely tuned skills of tact and diplomacy, we are able to use our expertise to ensure the smooth running of a development and maintain good relations between residents, freeholders and developers.
Whitton & Laing was founded in 1884 in Exeter and over the last 135 years have historically provided traditional estate management services; letting and maintaining properties for landlords and providing valuation services for buildings and estates. Therefore, 45 years ago when clients started to ask us to provide ‘flat’ management services all the required skills were already in place and we are proud to say that those early management companies are still with us.
Without any promotion, relying on word of mouth recommendation by residents, landlords and other professional organisations, the numbers of properties managed by our organisation has grown steadily to over 5500 now, comprising of over 300 individual management companies in the South West Region.
As the years have passed there are more and more regulations, law and bureaucracy required of residents’ management companies, most of which has been put in place to deal with difficult or unscrupulous freeholders or landlords, their impact can affect the smooth running of even the best-run management companies. We have the experience and expertise to deal with all of these issues, together with our friendly and resident-focused approach to property management.
We would welcome the opportunity to talk to residents, freeholders or developers who feel they may be able to benefit from our advice and services.
